This collection of academic essays contains short essays by all of the the main people I have come across who problematise deliberative democracy including Habermas, Young, Mouffe, Phillips and Mansbridge and an excellent defense of deliberative democracy from Benhabib herself (“Toward a Deliberative Model of Democratic Legitimacy”).
