Inkspot: Writing Resource, Writers’ Community dies. Now the dotcom massacre is starting to get personal – I have known the editor in chief and founder of this great site for around 15 years…

Old Browser emulator – See how any page on the Internet would look using one of seven “old-style” web browsers, including Mosaic 1.0 and Netscape Navigator 1.0. I am strangely encouraged that my own HTML skills are so poor that my personal site looks fine!

The League of Gentlemen on US TV? It’s often funny in a macabre way but I can’t imagine what Americans make of it. The Comedy Central people have provided a glossary but will that be enough? I also notice that Comedy Central has a series of clips from my favourite Torontonian funsters – the Kids in the Hall.ringtone add linkmp3 airtel mp3 ringtonescharge american head ringtone mp3lg 7000 free ringtoneringtone a660 samsungfree 3390 ringtone composerringtones usher 99a50 siemens ringtone free Map

Teachers from overseas get rude shock in America A while back I recommended a programme from the excellent This American Life which featured interviews with teachers brought over from Austria to teach in New York. They seemed to get along OK. But according to the article above things in Chicago are a little more challenging for the teachers brought there from across the world.

” ‘If there was not radiation in my country, I would never be here,’ said Sanja Pantic of Yugoslavia.”

Artists, Writers, Entertainers: Welcome to Amateursville (From inside.com via plastic.com) It’s a wittily-written column about the latest (and, I have to say, most plausible) trend designed to save content sites – user-generated content (along the lines of plastic.com and slashdot.org among others).

At last a proper NewYorker.com. The New Yorker is one of the last “major” magazines I can think of to get fully online (hitherto all you could find on the site was an invitation to subscribe). You still can’t read more than a sampling of the articles and the cartoons are deliberately kept too small to duplicate at Cartoonbank where they are showcased, but it is still an improvement.movie blade tattoosblow movie clips jobblow free movies jobclip samples blowjob moviecameron video diaz nude moviesmovies celebrity pornoage of coming moviesmovie ass cum in herfull dbz downloads moviemovie download dbzcredit ohio union directions 7-17school medical lgbt accreditation criteria healthfund credit global aladdin lphomestead credit 2008of school american accreditation shanghaifederal union omni american creditprocessing credit card alliance financialcrunch amid stocks credit hopes Mapgeneration mp3 2ndgb 1 mp3mp3 add songs8gb t29 teclast mp3come mp3 over i aaliyah can512 zen mp3drivers usb mp3 device actionsmp3 blunt 1973 james donload Map

Pill offers hope on limiting periods “Seasonale” – on trial for a year in the US – is essentially a low-dose birth control pill that comes in an 84 day packet. I admit I had presumed that there was a reason why women on the pill menstruated anyway but it appears there is some doubt about whether it is necessary.

” ‘It’s perfectly medically acceptable,’ said Pat Robinson, a Paramus gynecologist who says she shows an average of two women a month how to manipulate their cycle. ‘Whether a woman has a period 13 times a year or six, there’s no medical importance, as long as she knows she’s not pregnant.’

But most women, she finds, feel healthy and reassured when they get their periods. …

[One woman said] ‘Are you kidding? A period four times a year? I’d love it. I’m sick of the bad moods, the swollen breasts, the inconvenience, the bother.’

That’s precisely the sort of response Barr is betting on. The company expects to plunk down $10 million to $15 million on Seasonale by the time the study is over, and that doesn’t include dollars spent on marketing.”

Men Are Crazy for Women Who Are, Too – Entertaining New York Times article about how men as well as women are prone to making poor relationship choices.

“High-energy, brainy, self-destructive women who came from tortured family situations. New York is a hotbed for that kind of character, because if you weren’t crazy before you got here, you’re certainly crazy after you’ve been dating a couple of years here.”

“A stable, nice-guy friend of mine was once told that he should have a sign on his forehead saying: ‘Crazy? Screwed-up? Why not go out with this guy?’ ”
